Wordsworth Country #1...

These are the mountains that the poet William Wordsworth would have seen from his bedroom window in the early 1800's.

On a visit to the Lake District for a few days, the hotel of choice was directly opposite William Wordsworth's house, Dove Cottage, at Grasmere. And in the coming days I'll share more images from that trip.

The weather was, how shall I say... varied. In fact, there was just about every kind of weather: snow, hail, rain, wind, stillness, clouds, mist and bright sunshine, often changing in a few minutes from one to the other, and it made for some interesting, and sometimes quite tricky, walks through the forests and across the hills in the sodden ground.

But I was able to get some images which I hope you'll enjoy. So stay tuned!
