A Walk in the [Black] Forest...

The end of the day on a path on the edge of the forest, with the setting sun streaming golden light through the leaves.

Today, Mum and Dad would have been celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. The title of this blog is a nod to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, whose records were one of my Dad's favourites. I remember in the late 1960's or early 70's Dad buying a new 'stereogram', a combined stereo record player and radio. It was actually, for it's time, quite a nice piece of furniture, and Dad was very proud of it and the rich stereo sound it produced, and Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass was, I think, the first album he bought to play on it. And A Walk in the Black Forest was one of his favourite tracks. So as I walked this path I was reminded of it, and them. Happier days.

Happy Anniversary, Mum and Dad. Thinking of you. Love you and miss you.
