Back on the horse...

The Humber Bridge

It's been a while since I've had my camera out in anger. To be honest, with everything else going on, I lost a bit of interest. But there's nothing like getting back on the horse to remember how much you like riding.

Yesterday, after lunch with a good friend, I took a walk along the Humber foreshore, and this is one of the many images I took of this imposing structure. Well, I say one, it's actually 10 images stitched together to create the panorama. Using a tip from another photographer, the hand-held originals were taken in portrait mode, rather than the usual landscape, and that helped to keep the verticals straight.

It was the hottest day of the year, and with not a cloud in the sky and taken in the middle of the afternoon, the light was quite harsh and flat. Hopefully the processing has brought out a little more of the majestic beauty of the scene.
